![]() ![]() You can make physique checks to heal every morning.The way your players kill NPCs is by injuring them, and they need to roll a DF on a Physique skill.The way your players die are by "exerting themselves dangerously" with an injury that they didn't take time to heal, or something unequivocally kills them.Their is no health, but players can take thematic injuries.Opposed rolls determine who gets injured and who doesn't.In order of dexterity, the highest first.Additionally, it's less taxing on the players, and their minds can fill in the gaps. Having complicated backstory for a 3-4 session game is not needed. The questionnaire is delightfully open-ended in wondrous diction. Less drama for me is not welcomed, but for people who need stability. Their are a lot less DFs because of them. This will straight up fall into the main attribute Physique, so that headache is over. The times where no-one put any points into " Climb" skill when they needed to jump and when people did put points into Climb when the opportunity to jump never occurred is laughable. This is simple and gets the job done, you have a large pool of skill points to work with, much larger than CoC with fewer skills to choose from, which is honestly welcomed. You can't critically fail using specialties.Your starting character determines your main attributes and specialties.You build your character from a large pool of points, pouring them into a list of around 20 skills. I'm a cruel bastard so there is no way in hells I'm doing that, but you do you. To players who like to win this isn't going to be good to them, and you might want to consider cutting this rule. Veiled rolls creating great opportunities to add uncertainty (more mystique), if you have mature players who understand horror elements rping around the uncertainty of it sounds fun, however a lot of players like winning.Failure to do so will disappoint your players. But if you are the GM for The Lady Afterwards, you need to be the one with the most knowledge of them all. ![]() Essentially like 99% of the CS player base falls into that I think, myself included, which is a good thing because it kinda of right in the goldilocks zone for cosmic horror.
